@AndiWithnail @benjyminty I did. I was clarifying because you made it sound like they changed to 450g balls in 1970, and now we've changed to 410g, hence being lighter today.

That's an incorrect impression because the weight of the ball has always been a range since 1872 and that's never changed.

@AndiWithnail @benjyminty The English FA said the weight has to be between 14 and 16oz since 1872. That's the rule and hasn't changed.

What changed was footballs became waterproof in the 60's and 70's so now the ball remains that weight throughout the game.
