People are losing their minds over using the 65th pick on Joe Iginla. Since drafting Adam Fox (who never even played a game for Calgary), the Flames’ last 9 third-round picks have combined for 1 NHL game. Acting like a 3rd-round pick is some untouchable asset is wild.
@BigFlamesGuy@rccola1962 True. But I’d relax on Joe iginla. Idk how much you’re ripping on the pick but if we even waited till 4th there’s probably a 50% chance he’s there because of his name. You think Utah didn’t wanna pick him? How many third round picks have we had work out in the past 10 years?
@severguy19@Fan960Steinberg Utah would have taken him in the fourth for sure, just be happy we got him. Maybe jarome knew something about him, an injury he was battling last season? He also has a really late birthday.
@Fan960Steinberg Guys who cares he was picked early?? Utah would have for sure taken him in the fourth round, any other team might have too because of his name. Just be happy we got him, 90% chance any other third we took wont be a stud anyways.
Who cares they picked iginla early? He was probably gonna get taken in the fourth by Utah or anyone because of hes name, better to play it safe. Maybe they’ll make a move for Tij now.
@TabbyThrowback@RingOfFireCGY He didn’t even play him at centre which is the position he feels most comfortable at. Give him an actual run at centre next season and if it doesn’t work let him go
