@Nate1028Alt @afern_alex Is a ~20 point jump in yr3 from yr1/2 really magical? A lot of the criticism can be boiled down to his athleticism imo. Straight speed, transition game, def pos, Etc. He seems to be having a more productive offseason, he could mitigate a lot of pressure by adding another gear

@HabsWest @P__Airoldi They have managed the cap very intelligently. The plan since 2023 has been to clear space for 2026 offseason to make a big addition. They did both of those. Minus Carlson and if Zegras beats it but the highest cap hit on the team is TK at 8.75

He seems to be having a better offseason, maybe he’ll be able to improve speed. He’ll never be a burner in the NHL but that’s okay you don’t have to be when you can capitalize on your elite skills

But not every good defensive player is a speedster, Barkov for example had One 22mph burst in 24-25, One for Stone this year, I’d image if I keep looking past my first two names there will be countless more examples

@b_grammie @ADiMarco25 @Xx_Kevhoas_xX @SensCentral When coupled with potentialy Carlsson and Foerster(incredible defensively) in the top 6 Michkov needs to get his defensive game to level where it’s manageable with the amount he creates offensively. His offensive game is much more important than being a proper 2-way player

Michkov is not close to the worst defensive player in the league like some make him out to be, it’s not good enough, needs more improvement but, its came from yr 1, yr 2 so you’d except so more improvement with a better offszn

@b_grammie @ADiMarco25 @Xx_Kevhoas_xX @SensCentral Ant, A player who averages 58pt/82games at 21 YO and has elite pedigree shouldn’t be valued higher than Yakemchuk? Michkov had 63 points in the nhl at the same age. I understand F/D but there’s a huge gap there in terms of talent imo

@jaydee4777jd @SuitableAlias Pasta, kuch, mcdavid, MacKinnon are reliable 2way guys? He will never be a 2-way player he will likely improve his defensive play but not to a level where he’ll be seen as a 2-way player but to a level where his very likely ability to hit 90+ points will make up for it
