Now I understand why Brian Harpole lied.

He had to come up with a preemptive explanation for the burns on Charlie’s chest.

Hence the fantastical story about jumping on top of Charlie on a hospital gurney, cutting his shirt off, and assisting the medical staff with the defibrillator- as if that would ever be allowed in any situation.

It could also explain why Frank Turek lied and said that he gave Charlie CPR.

If Charlie’s shirt had already been cut off in the car, everyone present would have seen the burns and bruises, leaving them scrambling for an explanation that would seem plausible…

It just seems to get worse & worse.
