@JoStevensLabour Capital just means it hosts the Senedd and Welsh Government. That’s the only difference from another British city of equivalent size. Will the extra funding be used to investigate them?
The Senedd’s schools curriculum teaches children that the definition of gender is the “social condition of being male or female”.
This literature was distributed to eleven-year-olds.
No wonder we are seeing a growing number of confused children.
Rip it up and start again. Now.
@JeremyBrookman2 Wales wasn’t a political entity until devolution, correct. But it was still Wales prior to that.
Plaid Cymru doesn’t care about Wales. They care about the political entity. Hence polices like Nation of Sanctuary.
@JeremyBrookman2 Wales didn’t begin with the SoS for Wales. Wales was Wales before the Senedd. Wales was Wales before the SoS.
Wales is not late 20th century administrative institutions.
@JeremyBrookman2 We are the campaign to Scrap the Senedd and end devolved government. Our supporters may have different views on the powers of the SoS or on local/regional government within Wales. Those are questions for political parties.
Our job is just to end devolution. Clear them out.
@HUW008@SeneddWaste And when they are granted refugee status, they can go where they choose. And the Welsh Government goes out of its way to induce them to stay in Wales with housing support. It explicitly says, “we want as many refugees to stay in Wales as possible.”
@HUW008@SeneddWaste No, they control dispersal of asylum seekers. When they become refugees, they can go anywhere in the UK. The Welsh Government begs them to stay in Wales and provides generous additional housing support.
@InstaSim6@SeneddWaste When they stop being asylum seekers and become refugees the Welsh Government begs them to stay in Wales and provides extra housing support on top of what they receive from the UK government.
Maybe the fear isn't that UK wide expertise would fail Wales or maybe it's that it would succeed? If Welsh patients suddenly got far better outcomes by using expertise from elsewhere in the UK the next question writes itself, what exactly are we paying the Senedd for?🧐🤔🤨
@maelnallaen@Penyrheolgerrig Fact check: false. A majority in Parliament can amend the Wales Acts as it sees fit. No Parliament can bind its successors.
As Scott Sumner said: "Only banana republics insist on foreigners calling their country by the local name. It’s a sign of weakness and insecurity."
This would be embarrassing.
@InstaSim6@PlaidExposed False. WG’s own NoS plan says it will “fund support for refugees to transition to new accommodation” during the Move On period via Welsh Refugee Council. This is not something they are required to do, this is something they choose to do as part of the NoS offer.
@InstaSim6@PlaidExposed False. Housing being devolved doesn't mean that the Welsh Gov is required to provide a refugee-specific move-on and housing layer after Home Office asylum accommodation ends. That is a political choice.
NoS also provides other extra services to refugees who move within the UK.
