Great to see @uclknowledgelab 's @scratchmaths available here... Explore free primary maths resources with Maths4All storefront launch https://t.co/206iqre117
And in case you missed it - I will be speaking at #exabytes19 on June 28th about ScratchMaths: programming and Mathematics and how it helped develop my pedagogy and knowledge. https://t.co/GJWW9Ktsf8 #STEM
Hi #caschat we need your help! Here at UCL we are currently trying to assess the 'impact' of the @ScratchMaths project and as part of this we would love to hear from anyone who has used/is using our curriculum resources. Either tweet us or email [email protected]. Thanks!
Our @ScratchMaths project materials have now been translated into Spanish and @J_MorenoL from the ministry of education is currently to exploring their impact on children's computational thinking with 4000+ students across Spain - we look forward to hearing the results!
Coding offline and online. Create a digital stopwatch. An outstanding lesson for our Icelandic guests. Well done Laurel Class, your knowledge of coding is truly amazing!#agjsmaths#agjscomputing@ScratchMaths
The SM RCT evaluation found a positive impact on Computational Thinking in Y5 particularly for disadvantaged pupils. No evidence of impact on KS2 maths in Y6. Many schools were unable implement SM in Y6. No difference between girls and boys’ performance. https://t.co/6HgmYpvOKH
If you missed @ivan_kalas fantastic seminar on his "Computing with Emil" initiative which is aimed at introducing computing concepts to Year 3 primary children (building on his work on the @scratchmaths project), then you can catch up here: https://t.co/7V9RyrcOxW #UCLKLtalks
We are looking forward to welcoming @ivan_kalas back to the lab next Wednesday (14 Nov) to hear about his fantastic primary computing project "Computing with Emil". Join us at 12:30pm or follow online #UCLKLtalks Registration details here: https://t.co/D6o1enXFMz
Our next lab seminar will be given by @ivan_kalas from Comenius University who will introduce his primary computing project "Computing with Emil" (building on @ScratchMaths). Join us on 14 Nov at 12:30pm or follow #UCLKLtalks Details: https://t.co/D6o1enXFMz
Our next lab seminar will be on Primary Computing and given by @ivan_kalas from Comenius University, who will present his new initiative "Computing with Emil" building on our very own @ScratchMaths. Join us on 14 Nov at 12:30pm. Full details: https://t.co/D6o1enXFMz #UCLKLtalks
ScratchMaths – Engaging Key Stage Two pupils in maths through coding. Find out the success of this approach at Ardleigh Green Junior School on p9 of the Autumn Term 2018 Hsis School Improvement Update https://t.co/DnCswIQdDk @agjsschool
It has been great to hear about the ScratchMaths materials being translated and used in many different countries including at a summer school in China... https://t.co/EaebxBzgQk (with thanks to Dr Ting Wei from Nanjing Xiaozhuang University)
Maths can be a little tricky, but learning to code with Scratch is like learning a new language to unlock fresh ways of thinking about important mathematical ideas. Check out our upcoming Scratch Maths Summer Schools for 7-12 year olds (on 3 & 9 August) https://t.co/XIAJwon6H1
#elimconf2018@mberry recommends @ScratchMaths . Rather than copy code get pupils to explore for science and angles. Generative art - broccoli and fractals. Remix code. Predict and run code. Lots of different instructional approaches mentioned
Our latest paper 'Beyond jam sandwiches and cups of tea: An exploration of primary pupils' algorithm‐evaluation strategies' is now freely available read-only online: https://t.co/pCe9GONDtW
