I think Roblox can choose to cut off a a bit, or they can wait for governments to cut off a lot.

The wave of bad press and clickbait YouTubers has really taken its toll and put a spotlight on many of Roblox’s growing pains.

Roblox will survive, but it’s gonna be a bumpy road.

Roblox is self regulating because they have to.

If they don’t restrict themselves then governments will do it for them, some of them already are. Governments won’t care to learn the intricacies of how Roblox work or how to properly limit it.

Many love to hate on Roblox but very few seem to understand the massive effort Roblox puts into these sorts of problems

Meta had leaks where they literally treated child mental health issues caused by their app as PR issues, not platform issues

I want to speak about how we treat real-world re-enactments on Roblox in light of recent tragic events.
We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for re-enacting any real-world tragic event on Roblox. This includes acts of terror and school shootings. Such experiences directly violate our community standards and we strive to block them before they are even published.
That said, a handful of bad actors do try to create these experiences to share with their friends and on social media. Although we are not perfect, we work hard to moderate and remove them as quickly as possible. And the vast majority of players on Roblox never encounter them.
Finding and playing such experiences before they are removed often requires you to be a member in the community that creates this content.
Our commitment to safety allows us to champion the freedom to create. We are proud to support millions of creators who, with good intent, are learning to code, building new games, and launching successful businesses.
We will continue to lead the way in online safety and civility.

had a LOT of fun implementing search into Clip It today

200 scenes each labeled w/ one of 14 categories + a 15d vector describing it

was able to make a pretty powerful & lightning fast text search

top is just string match, bottom is string+category+vector space

- The scene you need to watch/record in right now
- The next scene that will be visible in the current clip you're playing
- The first scene visible in the next clip you're watching

Something interesting happened with Clip It this past week.

We launched an update that dynamically loads scenes as they're needed instead of keeping all 184 of them in ReplicatedStorage

Our crash rates fell to 1/3 of their previous values.. for 2 days
