@MatthewBorows13 It's sad how school has felt very similar to all of us. Hopefully we'll be able to make a great impact on students and change the stigma of school needing to be rules and homework!
@RexAvery6 I had the same experience sometimes. It was hard because my parents wanted me to be successful in school, but they also wanted me to express myself as much as I can
@Mel_Gibbs_ Flexibility is so important in the classroom. Not everything will work as we plan and we need to know how to adapt. Luckily, we'll have so many other teachers to support us!
@Mr_Jon_Miller Definitely disagree! Teaching strategies are changing every single day and we need to help veteran teachers realize that students have different needs now!
@JKoterwski What do you mean by open environment? Open can mean a lot of different things! That is a great perspective in the classroom and I would like to know how you apply that!
@hunley_grace Looking forward to something helps students come back! There were so many times when I didn't want to go to class because the teacher did the same thing over and over again
@AndersonNAsher Yes! Completing the same assignments over and over again is definitely not engaging! It's so important for students to be exposed to different types of learning
A6: I have said it multiple times already, but engaging students is so important! Students who are not able to engage with the lesson will be drained before the day is over. #TCHEdBirds#tch296
A5: Alike shows that YA learners need socialization and physical development. Students who sit behind their desks all day lose motivation because they are not able to be active and talk with their classmates #TCHEdBirds#tch296
A4: A risk I will have to take is creating different types of activities. I want to find new ways to engage students that may not be traditional in middle schools. Trying new things can be scary & I'm hoping my students would experiment with me! #TCHEdBirds#tch296
A3: Alike confirmed to me the importance of engagement in teaching. Not all students learn from worksheets and tests. Students need to incorporate what they enjoy outside the classroom inside the classroom!#TCHEdBirds#tch296
A2: Alike made me think about how school was for me when I got older. Whenever I was with my family, I was very energetic. But when I would be at school, my energy would drop. I definitely "drained" color when I was in content classes & it followed me home. #TCHEdBirds#tch296
A1: I am a Social Science and Math endorsement. My graduation year is 2023. I'm currently watching The Beatles: Get Back. So my theme song this week is Get Back! #TCHEdBirds#tch296
A5: My goals for clinicals is to learn every student's name, get to know them, and step outside of my comfort zone! The first day felt very scary since I didnโt know anyone. If I get to know the students better, I think that will help me step outside of my comfort zone! #TCH296
A4: My 8th grade history teacher taught us about the assembly line by making paper airplanes! We were told only one step of the process & then would have to pass our plane to the next person with the next step. That unit to this day has always stuck out to me. #TCH296
