Partners: @WorldMonuments @ICOMOSUK @AmericanExpress & @BpoolCouncil
Closing remarks @SeaChangeConf. It may be over for now, but we're sure this is just the beginning of many more projects and conversations. Huge thanks from us to the speakers, the attendees and the fellow organisers. @JohnD_WMFB @WorldMonuments@BpoolCouncil@bournemouthuni
@SeaChangeConf is drawing to a close and it is now time for us all to go home and act to promote and protect our #coastal and #seaside#heritage as #ClimateChange happens. BUT it is also about everyone playing their part outside this forum. It is a challenge for all of us.
My thing is ‘spirit of place’ - the tangible & intangible DNA that makes one place different & special from another
For me it guides ALL conservation
I hope delegates @SeaChangeConf got a full blast of Blackpool’s spirit of place during the 3 days #SeaChangeConf@WorldMonuments
The climate of the Black Sea is shifting towards a Mediterranean climate. More flooding and landslides are observed and human intervention is intensifying the extent of these extreme events. More education is needed. Thanks
@gul_aktrk for the amazing talk! @SeaChangeConf
Global analysis of #shoreline change in 67 natural world UNESCO #heritage sites from @SalmaSabourG @UoSEngineering Key messages: human actions affect shoreline change on natural sites. Linear trends in shoreline change are the most extreme. @SeaChangeConf
Dr Axon (@1DrGeography) talking on the impacts of climate change to the US coastal heritage. This map of Boston shows large areas likely to be affected by future rises in sea level. People & communities at risk as much as coastal heritage in the present and future #SeaChangeConf
Tim Wardley opening the last day of #SeaChangeConf today at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Looks like a great set of talks and parallel sessions today. The US, Black Sea, Rhyl and Margate amongst the case studies. #climatechange#coastalheritage#impacts
