No? Then perhaps read about the period from 1930-1934 in Germany, because a lot that happened there has now become textbook for how Donald Trump runs his administration.

Knowledge - or rather the loss of it - is what attributes most to our sign of the times.

We have become collective “stupid as fuck”, not least helped on the way by how social medias work.

This video message is a call for help from within the US system, from those who are still able to fulfill their duties.

They too will be circumvented by decrees and replaced by willing puppets, who are either too ignorant to understand the full extent of their complicity or just pure evil.

Voice of America was built in 1942 because the truth was the only weapon left to pierce the darkness of a Europe that had already succumbed to the "willing puppets" and the "pure evil."

VOA gave Europeans a window into a world where institutions still mattered and where facts weren't just "opinions" of the state. It was a lifeline for the sane.

Today, the signal needs to travel in the other direction.

When a democracy starts dismantling its own gears from the inside, it loses the ability to see its own reflection. A Voice of Europe would be that mirror. It would provide an outside-in reality check for those within the US system who are still trying to fulfill their duties, reminding them that the "decrees" of a leader are not the laws of the land, and that Europe has seen this "textbook" before. We know how the story ends if the signal goes silent.

Historical Parallels: 1930s Germany vs. Today

• Purging the Civil Service:

In 1933, the "Professional Civil Service Law" replaced neutral experts with party loyalists. Today, "Schedule F" mirrors this by reclassifying non-partisan experts as "political appointees," replacing merit with personal loyalty to the leader.

• Rule by Decree:

The 1933 Enabling Act allowed the Chancellor to bypass Parliament. Modern reliance on aggressive Executive Orders and threats to use the Insurrection Act follow the same "textbook" for sidestepping legislative checks.

• Attacking the Judiciary:

Hitler used threats and "loyalty-first" appointments to ensure courts wouldn't block his decrees. This parallels modern attacks on "activist" courts and the push for a politicized judiciary that succumbs to the leader's wishes.

• Controlling the Narrative:

The term Lügenpresse was used to delegitimize media that challenged the state. Today, branding the free press as "the enemy of the people" ensures the "knowledge loss" that makes a population susceptible to a strongman.
