With LeBron now in the fold, the Sixers offense has a lot of mouths to feed with only one ball to go around. So, who makes the most sense to take a backseat, lean into their role, and impact the game in other ways?

I really think Jaylen Brown’s role acceptance is going to be the key for the Sixers. If he’s cool with a dip to 18-20 PPG, playing primarily off ball, and leaning into defense and the little things, then I do think this can work for Philly.
But if not, the “everyone needs the ball” conundrum is real, and I think this fit is way less clean than people are making it out to be.

@SeanJonesNBA and I will be going live on Wednesday, 630 PM EST to talk Red Sox baseball. Going to be an extremely positive episode where I start to feel my oats again.
Thinking I might do a spaces tomorrow for the all-star game
I’ve been probably as big of a Randle pessimist as anyone over the years, but a straight up salary dump is still pretty crazy for a team that desperately needs reliable creation next to Ant. I’d obviously assume some other move will follow this one, but if not, oof.
Just in: Minnesota is sending Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick in the NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade that sends Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls, sources tell ESPN. The Timberwolves will acquire Brooklyn’s No. 33 pick for Randle and No. 28.
Spurs offense looks so out of sorts. Playing panicked like they’re trying to hit a home run on every play. Just zero poise from a team that’s been poised all postseason and showing their youth at the worst possible time.
Another episode of The Sean Jones NBA Show—out now! On this one, I do a full NBA Finals preview between the Knicks and Spurs, including:

As hyperbolic as it may sound, I genuinely think this injury is the difference between the Knicks having a legitimate chance in the Finals versus completely drawing dead. His size, defense, and rebounding is so important and they have no one else that can replicate what he does.
@BiggestJohnStud@Deanciriaco We’ll see if he can keep it up, but good call by you. The only problem is that he’s basically the only hitter in the lineup that’s even met expectations, let alone exceeded them.
Always an absolute pleasure hopping on the pod with Nick! We reacted to both Game 1s and talked through all the major storylines for the conference finals.

The Spurs entered the series against Minnesota as massive favorites—but do the Wolves have more of a shot than most of the media is giving them?

This Cavaliers core just doesn’t have it. Too iso heavy, too reliant on Mitchell hero ball, no reliable wings, the “star” bigs are way too inconsistent, and they play their worst basketball at the most important time of year every single season.
They need to break up this group.
