No doubt Dave, there’s been a fundamental lack of the basics in the last few months in particular. And the buck stops with the coach. Just saying the off field stuff has an effect too. And remember, Flanagan was chasing the CEO position at the FAI not long ago. He is on the CEO circuit.
Great to see “223” at @TreatyUnitedFC Women’s game today. Also great to see “1,090” at the Men’s game v Cork last Monday. Very appropriate that the Mathematicians of the World Conference takes place in Limerick this week🤔
Great 2nd half effort by @TreatyUnitedFC last night, deserved a draw at least. However, off the field as usual really low stuff in the treatment of @AherneMike95 who after years of service to the club is casually told before the game that his services are no longer required for post match interviews. Totally disrespectful behaviour, but the current MD seems to revel in this. Mike has been the voice of soccer in Limerick for a long time. The club is going nowhere fast with this kind of “leadership”. At least Mike has the radio show as a forum….
@michaelbuck1990@SkyWatch07@willocallaghan Michael, the Gaelic Grounds is antiquated for sure, but doesn’t take half the day to get away from. Like someone said, PUC is a great ground, terrible location
Wonder what Mangan & McGrath are thinking. 30 points down with 5 minutes to go and fella’s wilting in the heat. You’d think Cullen would put them on and let them play in a final
Not for a second saying Tommy or anyone is untouchable. The team has not being going well in a while, and that needs to change - no doubt there. But…..I do have an issue with a CEO giving a sneaky critique of the coach & team when he himself has no connection with anyone or anything outside of his office, and has somehow made the club worse in the 7 months he has been here. He is clearly trying to shine a light on Tommy in order to get attention away from himself, and for no other reason.
The team & coaches need to improve, that’s obvious . Things not going well for Tommy at the moment, but he was there at the coalface 6 years ago, getting senior soccer back up & running in Limerick. And you would expect support from the CEO, not a sly dig in the ribs - see paragraph 2. Remember this is a CEO who certainly cannot point to standards or what is acceptable in any shape or form.
Since his arrival 6 months ago there hasn’t been a single positive development at the club. Classic deflection from him & redirecting the blame to Tommy & the team. Maybe concentrate on the “strategy” you said you was imminent 2.5 months ago, and still hasn’t been seen? @TreatyUnitedFC be better
The downpour at 6pm last night was something that happens, bad luck in many ways. What isn’t bad luck & I witnessed it was that when fans turned up all they were met with was shutters & gates closed. Nobody there to explain the game was off, no sign, nothing. A woman with 4 kids standing outside in the rain, totally confused until I told her the story. Complete lack of respect (again) for supporters from @TreatyUnitedFC you need to reset your attitude in a huge way
@TreatyUnitedFC so this family of 4 paid approx €45 to attend the Longford game last night. They were corralled into a corner to eat the food they bought outside, as though they were afflicted with some disease. And other fans watched them eat as they entered. Meanwhile there is no decent hot food option available inside the ground. I hope this wasn’t their 1st impression of the club, because if it was I doubt they will return. And the club wonders why they can’t get people to come. Not what was planned 6 years ago I can promise you.
Ronan, this only came about because the chip van that was there for years was dispensed with this year - without giving a decent alternative. So, people are forced to go across the road for their food. And the club will say there is hot food, but that amounts to tiny sliders for €6 that it has been made clear nobody wants. First rule of business - understand your customer
@apow8 Thanks Adrian - I grew up in Thomondgate, though I am in Shannon for 20+ years now. I completely get it and I see where the paranoia from the Government parties is hindering the development of Moyross
