@si_rubinstein Maybe. But Clive Sinclair was writing Jewish magic realist short fiction like an insane cross between Angela Carter, Kafka, Marquez & IB Singer.
@havivrettiggur Belgium sent soldiers to protect Jewish sites back in 2015. The unit I served in, Chasseurs Ardennais, were tasked. https://t.co/kNOwQ2JuQ2
Harold R. Daniels’ The Girl in 304 was published in 1956. An old-fashioned but neatly plotted top-notch murder mystery with some police procedural elements. It starts with the discovery of a hooker's body. And crooked cops figure in the tale.

From the 1550s to the 1930s, Vilnius was "the Jerusalem of the North." But with with the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, the fate of the Jews of Vilnius was sealed. More than 90% of Lithuanian Jews were murdered: a higher share than in any other country the Nazis occupied.

BEAUTIFUL STORIES FOR UGLY CHILDREN (1989): DC's Piranha imprint published this incredible comic/storybook black comedy, featuring clowns on the rampage, a week in the life of a dead couple, a man born in an electric chair, and more strangeness. One of the best comics of the 80s.
Book trailer for my forthcoming short story collection, WHERE THE SHADOWS ARE SHOWN (September 30)!

LOVE ME FIERCE IN DANGER received some excellent reviews and won the Edgar Award for Best Biography, but without a big publicity campaign in the US, it's in danger of becoming a well-kept secret. If you've read it and liked it, please help to spread the word. You keep books alive
Here's a portion of Bernie Mireault's Captain America fan comic from 1982 (posted on FB).
The outsider impulse to play in the Marvel sandbox reminds me of Dan Clowes thinking he would be inking Iron Man one day. Or Chester Brown repurposing rejected samples for Yummy Fur 1.
