Faster and cheaper timelines to first in human. In the United States. EVERYWHERE in the United States (not just coastal KOL hospitals).
Sam nails a number of the parts. And I think this acceleration idea is becoming common place. Let’s get @MartyMakary and @US_FDA on board!
@DrSynbio hits the nail on the head here.
Faster FIH means more access for patients, less money spent per candidate, more shots on goal, and putting American biotech securely back in the lead.
Win. Win. Win. And Win. If the Aussies can do this, so can we.
I think this is simple, and similar to what I’ve been discussing with @rtnarch regarding the innovation bottleneck that is first in human (FIH) trials.
Going direct to IRB for FIH will incentivize more phase 1 sites to invest and come on board.
Avoiding the Gerontocene means keeping people productive as they age. That requires breakthroughs in longevity.
Push back aging and you get more people, more productive years per person, more workers, more inventors, more parents raising children, more experts with decades of accumulated knowledge still contributing.
The choice between building that future or losing it plays out on a specific timeline. There are two possible versions of 2035, and they look completely different.

Is the longevity field making progress?
@NornGroup formed in 2021 to address that question. We’ve now built a website to make it clear who we are and how we work to make longevity medicine real. Read on for a summary, and some of our outputs.
@NucleateHQ Amazing convo yesterday with these four, talking about how to take new approaches in aging biology, the role of medtech in improving outcomes, promising modalities, and so much more.
Huge thank you to the ~200 people who tuned in!
