Today, the second report of the IPCC's sixth assessment came out.
I, and many others, have been working on it for years, so I thought I'd commemorate it's launch with a thread on my contribution, the climate adaptation of African transport systems. 1/11

Really happy with how well this process of speculative design turned out. I thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the students as one of the mobility "experts", but learnt a significant amount myself in the process. Congrats to the team on this success!

@WeekendArgus Missing context: It's the highest for REPORTED robberies. Other parts of Cape Town or other cities in SA could have a far higher proportion of robberies that aren't reported at the police stations. It's important to report on statistics correctly or risk misleading your readers.
@Tom_Courtright Congrats, and welcome!!! We're excited to have you. I'll be based in Nairobi from April, so drop me a message if you pass through and want to chat PhD vibes.
@JayR_12_@nickhedley I'm hoping it will change soon, there seems to be an appetite for the prosumer model, as long as they get to still charge a connection fee. I don't know what would happen if you produce too much without an IPP or FiT contract. Maybe just a polite email asking you to use more⚡️:)
@JayR_12_@nickhedley If you're a net power contributer, then the municipality would need to pay you for electricity. That would require an Independent Power Producer (IPP) contract or tender to be signed, according to current national regs. Which is impossible for each person. So regs need to change.
