@searchdupre I’m sorry, it sucks man. I’ve lost too many friends to it and I know several who are still using. Some hid it from me for many, many years.
EXCLUSIVE: Abdul El-Sayed’s mother helped process tens of thousands in overseas transfers for an Islamic charity later convicted of secretly funneling $1.375 MILLION into Saddam-era Iraq—and blacklisted over alleged al-Qaeda, Taliban and Hamas ties. 🧵
Study Lincoln through his own words and your life will be enriched by his foresight and wisdom, which is just as relevant today as it was in his own time.
The actual quote, which I just retrieved, is actually more brilliant than that:
"Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide."
Look at the last word. Suicide...suicidal empathy.
@BillyM2k Lived in all three. Each has upsides and downsides. Growing up in the suburbs as a 90s kid was awesome. Living in the city in my 20s was a lot of fun. Now I enjoy the peace and quiet of rural living.

@amuse I live in “middle of nowhere Michigan” and there is virtually no crime. So safe, quiet and peaceful I don’t even feel the need to lock my doors at night.
In Michigan, we refer to ourselves as Michiganders, but do you know how the term became popular?
On July 27, 1848, during a speech in Congress, Illinois Whig Abraham Lincoln called the former Michigan governor and Democratic presidential candidate Lewis Cass “the great Michigander” as a political insult for exaggerating his military service.
While Lincoln didn’t invent the term, it was a play on words; “gander” means “male goose,” so Lincoln was mocking Cass for being foolish and obtuse. Newspapers ran with it, and the phrase became immensely popular.
Cass never went on to serve as president, but the name stuck, and what was once an insult is now the preferred term that people from Michigan use to describe themselves today.
Abdul the Fool is trying to convince Michiganders that the average person can’t afford going to Mackinac Island because he wants you to feel oppressed, but you can book a hotel on the island for around $200/night.
Northern Michigan is one of the most beautiful places in the country and Mackinac Island is a beloved historic site with perfectly preserved 19th century Victorian architecture. It was the second national park in our nation’s history after President Grant designated Yellowstone.
Abdul hates it because it preserves Michigan’s heritage and culture. It’s a slice of pure Americana.
@JosephRardin He explains what’s going on in this video. Apparently at least one of his older videos criticizing Walsh got a copyright strike after he published his reactions to Walsh’s Civil War video.

Mackinac Island was the second place in America to be designated by President Ulysses S. Grant as a national park, right after Yellowstone. The city on the island is a historical landmark of perfectly preserved 19th century architecture. The fact that cars are banned is exactly what makes it so appealing and a draw for tourism every year.
Mackinac Island is BY FAR the most American place in Michigan because it is a beloved historic site that preserves Michigan’s heritage and culture, which is something you admit to hating and clearly know nothing about.
