Interesting, I never finished college and certainly didn't take any courses that helped my technical abilities, and yet had a incredibly successful career in tech, nearly 30 years now. The one class I took in school that helped me more than anything else, typing. I also ran nuclear power plants on submarines before tech so there's that, but no college for that either.

@mikeroweworks Question: I'm late in my career and a recent job I had nearly refused to hire me due to my lack of a degree. I have worked in the field for 25 years and was a Navy Nuke. Basically I had to show them how hard my Navy schooling was. So the question, why should a late career person need to have a degree to get a job when they have been doing the job for 25 years?
