Foreigners Applaud Cambodiaβs Peace Spirit, Call It a Safe Destination
PHNOM PENH β Foreigners are recommending Cambodia to international travelers, affirming the Southeast Asian country as safe, with lovely and united people.
William Meyer, a U.S. resident who has been living in Cambodia for four years, said he has never experienced any safety-related issues.
Meanwhile, a French family of four who has been in the country for nearly two weeks and plans to spend their Christmas vacation in Siem Reap province said they were surprised by how beautiful the country is and how warm and welcoming the people are.
They also took part in the December 18 March for Peace amid border tensions, expressing Cambodiaβs spirit of peace and calling for respect for the ceasefire.
Organized by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), the three-kilometer march began at the night market and ended at the Independence Monument.
It is the Christmas season, a time for families to gather, yet more than 400,000 Cambodians have no home to return to. Since 7 December 2025, fighting has spread across seven provinces, reaching civilian areas far from the border, forcing families, including pregnant women, to sleep under plastic sheets. Homes, schools, bridges, and temples have been hit, showing the violence has not stayed on military lines. My Christmas wish is to see fireworks welcoming the New Year, not F-16s flying over my head.

Over 2,500 Buddhist monks joined nuns and residents of Phnom Penh, carrying banners and Cambodian flags in a peace march from Wat Phnom to the city's Independence Monument
No medals. No glory.
Yet, they carried the weight of a nation.
We owe our peace to their silence.
Let their names live longer than the noise of war.

UNICEF #Cambodia visited another displacement site in Preah Vihear, where thousands remain displaced. As Dr. Will Parks said, the needs are immense and recovery will take time.
Thanks to all partners and communities for standing with children and families through recovery.

Shown in this picture by the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) is a Thai MK-84 bomb that was dropped during the border clashes.
It weighs nearly one ton, measures around 3.5 meters, and contains more than 500 kg of explosive.
Heng Ratana, director-general of CMAC, said on July 30 that MK-84 is the largest variant in its family that includes MK-81, MK-82, and MK-83. This MK-84 variant was rarely dropped during the Indochina War.

Thailand used a dirty move and tricked Cambodian soldiers.
20 soldiers have been captured by the Thai soldiers, fortunately one managed to escaped by faking death and reported what have happened.
Let the world know that Thailand violated the ceasefire once more time.
