Contrast: At an introductory team meeting for 15O Jr Coyotes, HC Michael Grabner told them:
“Have fun this summer - workout but be a kid - you don’t need to be on the ice everyday - give your body a break - see you in August.”
12 year NHL career, but what does he know.
I am totally committed to getting a standing desk.
This conversation with Kelly Starrett convinced me.
Sitting isn't necessarily bad. Standing (and more movement in general) is good. But desks give you almost no movement options. So how can we create more movement choice during the workday?
If you have a standing desk, it helps to make it an actual movement station. That means having something to put a foot on so you can shift your pelvis and spine out of the same static position, and ideally a bar stool or perch so you can lean, sit, prop a foot up, or change positions easily.
That’s the real benefit of a good desk setup. Not that you’re standing all day, but that you’re no longer locked into one posture.

Former school principal on ADHD meds,
"Schools are drugging 6.4 million children for the crime of acting like children."
"A seven-year-old boy who can't sit still for six hours isn't sick. The system forcing him to sit still... that's sick."

i encourage everyone to take the time and listen to Chris interview . He talks with facts and knowledge of what has transpired, that very few people have. Many of us have tried to say many of the same things for years but have been muffled , or our interviews edited .Truth is out
Nick Saban shares the uncomfortable truth on why great teams fail without standards.
"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people."
"So if everybody doesn't buy into the same principles and values of the organization and the same high standard, you're never gonna be successful."
That's the truth. You can't build chemistry when half the team is committed and the other half is coasting.
"You know what my goal with spring practice is? Get the right guys on the bus, get them in the right seats, and get the wrong guys off the bus."
It's not about talent - it's alignment and direction.
"Do you want to be somebody they're trying to get off the bus because you're satisfied with mediocre performance?"
Success isn't just about talent. It's about shared beliefs, shared commitment, and shared standards.

As a friend of mine texted me today - 'Nick saying LNH instead of NHL is a small detail that means a lot to francophones. He also says partisans instead of fans. love it.'

Remember when people crushed 18-year-old Sam Bennett for his inability to complete a pull-up at the NHL Scouting Combine in 2014?
How's that working out?
His quote: "I guess, ultimately games aren’t won or lost if you can do a pull-up in the gym."

Paul Maurice was asked this morning how difficult it is to make every guy in the dressing room feel like they’re an important part of the team.
Fantastic question. Response was better.
