At the #ASOIF General Assembly in Lausanne, I emphasized the power of unity in protecting clean sport.

From the adoption of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code to the continued expansion of GAIIN — including major operations such as Operation Upstream — collaboration across the global anti-doping community is delivering real results. To date, GAIIN-related activities have contributed to the dismantling of 88 illicit laboratories and the seizure of nearly 90 tons of performance-enhancing drugs.

WADA will continue working with partners across the Sport Movement to protect athletes and safeguard the integrity of sport.

We welcome the decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport to uphold our appeal in the case of American sprinter Erriyon Knighton. As a result, the athlete has been suspended for four years. WADA appealed against the decision by the U.S. tribunal that found the athlete bore no fault or negligence for his violation after testing positive for a metabolite of the steroid, trenbolone, in March 2024. WADA is pleased with the outcome and we will continue to appeal cases to CAS when we feel justice has not been served.

We are publishing stakeholder feedback received during the Third Consultation Phase of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards Update Process, as well as the results of the Athlete-Centered Consultation.

More than 1,600 comments were submitted by stakeholders on the second drafts of the Code and Standards, and over 600 athletes/athlete commissions from 60+ countries and 70+ sports took part in the Athlete-Centered Consultation.

Over 400 athlete representatives came together in Lausanne for the #IAF2025, hosted by the IOC Athletes’ Commission, to discuss and exchange ideas to strengthen the support provided by their ACs.

Our AC met with the IOC Athletes’ Commission and discussed the 2027 Code and International Standards update process, contamination, the work of the Athletes' Anti-Doping Ombuds, planning for Milano-Cortina 2026 activations, and the issue of the Enhanced Games.
