Four years ago, @POTUS asked me to undertake what has been the experience of a lifetime – the opportunity to serve as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. https://t.co/dEglWxh8Uc

And most importantly, I give thanks to Almighty God, for wisdom, courage, and health. I pray that my tenure has reflected His love, and I take solace in the fact that His plan is at work. America – thank you for everything and God bless this great nation. https://t.co/dEglWxh8Uc

Thank you, President Trump, for this opportunity, and for the courage you display every day. You are an inspiration to so many Americans. Thank you to my beautiful wife Candy; my children; my grandchildren; and all my family and friends for their constant love and support.

I’m pleased to announce @HUDgov’s newest tool to help those in need — Find Shelter. We’re working with hospitals, police and fire stations, and others to help our most vulnerable find shelter, food, and essential resources.

It was this spirit that drove Dr. King’s passionate belief that America is not an irredeemable nation, stained by its sins, but instead it is a promise of hope, prosperity, and liberty. #MLKDay

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is one of the great figures of American history. He was a bold and fearless leader in America’s Civil Rights Movement, and he was a courageous champion of inalienable rights for all Americans. #MLKDay2021

Dr. King reminds us in his “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” that those fighting for Civil Rights were not fighting against America; instead, they were “in reality standing up for the best in the American Dream.” #MLKDay2021

You want to ban @realDonaldTrump, fine you’re a private company, but @Twitter deleting the President’s account which highlights this admin & its history is wrong. @Facebook & @instagram banning all images from the Capitol riot is a dangerous precedent to set. We aren’t in China.

Silencing a significant number of voters and erasing history is no way to unite us; it only further divides. Big tech & social media platforms want to act like media orgs but don’t want to be held accountable with the rest of media. Speech should be free whether you agree or not.

As a Nation we need to heal. I have not talked to anyone about invoking the 25th Amendment, and I am focused on finishing what I started in uplifting the forgotten women and men of America. It’s time to move toward peace. We are not each other’s enemies!

End this violence now. Violence is never an appropriate response regardless of legitimate concerns. Please remember: if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

As we begin a new year, Candy and I are grateful for the men and women who continue to fight COVID-19 and that a vaccine is on the way - the beginning of an end for this pandemic.

Violet gives “God all the glory” as a first time homeowner at age 83. The City of Greensboro’s Downpayment assistance program helped her achieve her dreams of having a home for her grandchildren to visit. Welcome home, Violet! #HomefortheHolidays https://t.co/DZflq1pu5F

During my time at @HUDgov, we’ve measured our success not by how many people we can get onto government assistance, but by how many we can lift onto a path of self-sufficiency. #HomeForTheHolidays
