India 🇮🇳 will soon have the second largest metro network in the world.

Last year I traveled from south to north in Mumbai. Two hours stuck in traffic each way. Four hours in car for a one hour meeting. Such a waste of time and so irritating.

Fortunately the alternative is coming fast! Up to 25 Indian cities are now constructing metros and India will soon pass the US for the second spot globally after China.

I still recall when only Delhi had metro and even that was a tiny network.

India's currently operational metro network is around 851 km. Another 675 km of metro lines across various Indian cities are under construction.

By 2024, India is expected to have over 1,100 kilometres of operational metro lines.

This is a wonderful development, Bharat!
