Tried writing something outside my comfort zone. Tell me what you think?
2022 Plant-based Products to look out for #NewsBreak#vegan#plantbased https://t.co/B0pQFSexvG
The first question I ask whenever I write a piece of content is - Who’s my target audience?
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” - Nelson Mandela
“There is only one valid definition of business purpose: to create a customer… Therefore, any business enterprise has two—and only two—basic functions: marketing and innovation.”
Peter Drucker
When you open a website on your phone and the first thing you read is “Responsive web design…” and you can’t read further because the next two lines overlap 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
it’s crazy how useless most marketing resources are. like you’ll see an article headline that promises something and by the end realize you just read a bunch of anecdotes and fluff
Before starting to write the article, send that outline to your client — with tentative points you’re thinking to cover.
The client can review it quickly, add their points, and tell whether a point needs to change.
You save time of writing and deliver efficient work in one go!
6. Prepare for the metaverse ∞
The metaverse is coming and it will completely change content marketing. What can you do right now? For more people not a lot, except keep an ear to the ground, stay informed and be curious.
Less marketing. More storytelling.
Would love to see brands put out more people-centric content in 2022 with less of a sales/educational/SEO focus.
Put names and faces to the company.
Tell us about what's hard.
Tell us about big wins.
Make us understand the day to day.
@soundslikecanoe I think you should mention Nickstop(TM) technology on your landing page since that’s your USP. I shouldn’t have to ‘look for’ what’s unique about the product.
The best tool for decision making!
Pick any two:
⏳ Time
💰 Cost
👍🏽 Quality
Stop expecting for all three and stop trying to achieve all three.
Fast and economical ain’t good.
Fast and good ain’t cheap.
Economical and high quality takes time.
Learn to make the trade off.
Cold outreach pro tip: don’t start the conversation by asking a question, but stating a common touch point.
Talk about their recent tweet, newsletter, blog post—heck, even a word in their bio.
It shows you acknowledge them & have personalised your msg.
Goes a long way!
Copywriting tip:
Relate to your customers more.
Use expressions like:
- “I understand”
- “I know the feeling”
- “We’ve all been there”
The more you show them that you understand their pain,
The more rapport you’ll create,
The more likely you are to get the sale.
Persuasion, decision-making and storytelling are the most valuable meta-skills because they multiply the value of any other skill by several orders of magnitude.
Don’t confuse advertising with content marketing. The former drives sales and the latter builds relationships.
Use your content to position your brand and enhance customer loyalty.
Most importantly - use effective tools to track the performance of your content.
