Imagine staying in a community for almost 21 years of your life, and this is how their road has been since you moved in and it keeps getting worse.

That's the fate of almost every place in Ogun state.

This is Adiyan, one of the outskirts of Ogun state, and I have lived in this area for 21 years of my life. The road has been like this and keeps getting worse day by day.

You'll think only the lower class stays in this area, but no, there are lots of well-to-do men living in this environment.

Some years back, there was a Ghanaian man in the area and still there who ran one of the prestigious secondary schools in Ogun state. Students were coming from different parts of Lagos and Ogun state, and they had many school buses conveying students to and fro.

However, the buses started getting bad because of the state of the road.

He went to the leaders in the community to fix the road, rumours had it that he requested a fee to be charged from every transporter, and a percentage would be paid to him, while some said he requested for the road to be named after him, so they refused and didn't allow him to fix the road.

Of course, his business suffered from it, and many people started withdrawing their students. I really doubt if the school is still functioning till date.

He just wasted resources; you needed to see what he built. I forgot to add that he was running both a day and boarding school, so you should imagine how big the school is.

The people that stopped him from fixing the road then are probably now old and can't go out, and their children can't come to visit them obviously because the road is bad.( We all are suffering from the selfishness).

There was a time some people came for a party in the area, and they couldn't get to their destination because their car kept breaking down due to the road. So they stopped on the road, rented chairs, sat there, and ate the food they were taking to the party right there.

If you use the road for the first time and you're like two - three months pregnant, there's probability that you might have a miscarriage, yes, it's that bad.

Below is the picture of what the community looks like, the person that took the picture took it on Sunday morning, this is the result of the rain that fell Saturday night/Sunday morning.

I still saw that bus that fell in the middle while on way to church and when I was going back home.
