Into: Mobile/RN, AI products, Solo SaaS, #buildinpublic
Let's grow together! 🚀
Most builders ship AI features. @marclou ships AI features you actually want to look at.
Sentiment tracking, share of voice, misinformation detection - all in one dashboard that still feels calm, not cluttered. Underrated skill. 🚀
I shipped analytics to https://t.co/vjhTLjM5sA
📣 Brand mentions over time
❤️ Top supporters (and critics)
🥇 Share of voice VS. competitors
🧱 Mention types (testimonials, bug reports, misinformation)
I like AI, but my happy place is building UIs for humans.
Hot Take: #buildInPublic is marketing with better PR.
Nobody posts their churn, their $0 weeks, or their unanswered tickets.
You're not vulnerable - you're editing a highlight reel and calling it honesty.
Hey, #BuildInPublic,
The first sale wasn't a fluke!
@RetroSelfieApp picked up 4 more paying users in August - $12.84 total, split across iOS and Android.
Still tiny. Still real. Building in public. 📈
Hey, #BuildInPublic,
@GridHabitsApp milestone: first real subscriber 💳
$2/mo MRR. Not much yet - but it's the first dollar that isn't mine, and that's the one that counts.
I have a conversion problem with @RetroSelfieApp and I don't understand why.
890 signups. 574 AI edits. $3.75 revenue.
57% of people who sign up never generate a single edit. Not "try once and leave" - never even try.
We insulated our houses to save on heating and accidentally killed the one thing that used to save our sleep: airflow.
Old houses breathed. New houses trap heat, humidity, and your own exhaled CO2 all night.
Crack a window. It's not cozy, it's ventilation.
Yes it's real and not healthmaxxing
One third of people now have sleep deprivation or chronic sleep disorders, one third!!!
Our globe has been getting hotter and hotter reaching record heat levels every year somewhere
Our houses are built more insulated than ever, they don't breathe anymore
Together that means people sleeping bad, in bedrooms that are too hot, too humid, ans with CO2 levels that are way too high
That's a modern problem not seen before, it wasn't like that 20 years ago!
Hot take: most "AI killed my SaaS idea" posts are just people discovering their idea was never a business.
A CRUD app with a paywall was never a moat. It was a head start.
The moat was always distribution, data, and trust - AI just made that obvious faster.
@marclou The plot twist is that “most nutritious” and “lowest pesticide” aren’t the same optimization problem.
Beans absolutely look like the cheat code here 😂
Now I want to know: which food on this chart surprised you the most?
Every "we 10x'd velocity with AI agents" post is missing the denominator 📉
How much of that output is now unmaintainable - and nobody's said so out loud yet.
@rauchg Monorepo solves context. It doesn't solve permissioning. The second sales, support, and prod config share one tree, someone's building an ACL system whether they planned to or not.
1.0.5 is out!
Not a new feature - I fixed something that should've worked from day one. Every square stays now, exactly like it should have.
39 users. 18 new this week. Day 26 building @GridHabitsApp solo from Bulgaria.
#buildinpublic
@marclou@LumaHQ 131 indie hackers in one photo and not a single boss to report to 😂
That's the dream!
Wish I could teleport from my desk straight to East Coast Park right now.
Which city gets meetup #12? 👀
Juggling @RetroSelfieApp + @GridHabitsApp solo, it's easy to only see the grind and forget to zoom out.
But @marclou's right - every $ of MRR isn't just income, it's equity in assets you're compounding night after night. 🌙📈
Play the long game.

In 2018, I was working 10 hours a day on my SaaS, and it was making $3K/month.
I remember my employee friends working 6 hours a day, with higher salaries, paid vacation, and holidays.
A thought crossed my mind: Why do I even bother?
It wasn’t until four years later, in 2022, that I realized my startup was an asset I could sell for ~3× its annual revenue.
If your product makes $3K/month, congrats. You are sitting on $100,000.
Right, @levelsio - except most people aren't adding "their flavor", they're all reaching for the same AI flavor.
The cheat code was never the model, it's taste: knowing when to stop generating and start editing 🎨
#AI#buildinpublic
The cool thing about AI is it's letting people add their own little flavor of creativity to all their projects
You'd never make this by hand 5 years ago, but with AI it's easy to generate it and used properly it gives everything more color and personality!
6 months of building solo, and today @RetroSelfieApp got its first-ever paying customer!
Not a test, not me - a real stranger!
Small number, huge feeling. 🎉📸
