#Afghanistan: Nationwide internet shutdown by Taliban has extremely serious human rights ramifications across the country. It curtails free flow of information crucial to everyday activities, incl. access to essential services from health & education to banking. Women & girls already excluded from public life are especially affected.
We call for immediate reconnection.
The brave and heroic women & girls of Afghanistan chanting “taseel haq-e māst!” (education is our right) in Herat city today against the Taliban.
Afghanistan remains the ONLY country in the world where girls are banned from school.
Philadelphia’s first ever Afghan Heritage Day! Thank you to all of those who made this event possible! We couldn’t have done it without our Philly fam 🇺🇸❤️🇦🇫
Today we joined the local Afghan community and AOPxSola to honor their community & heritage. A little over a year ago, 25,000 Afghan refugees arrived in Philadelphia and now hundreds call Philly home. #PHLHonorsDiversity
Great conference on the Interdisciplinary Approaches to Holistic Care in Psoriatic Disease hosted by @NPF!! Pleasure to finally meet you @DrJoelGelfand
Read the inspiring story about PCOM student Selli Abdali (DO ’23), who helped a family at the Philadelphia International Airport after their escape from Afghanistan in August, and what the parents did to show their gratitude. https://t.co/pi1nYucLbD
#PCOMProud
Today, we are inspired by Selli, one of the countless members of our wonderful Afghan diapora who has taken up the task of welcoming thousands of new community members to America.

Thank you for what you do, @SelliAbdali!
The baby is just 7 weeks old, not yet aware of how or for whom she was named.
Later on she’ll tell the Philly story to everyone. https://t.co/2SoZN5Q5sn
#EidMubarak2022 I am SO happy! One of the #Afghan refugee families that I spent hours with, @PHLAirport called to tell me that they named their newborn daughter after me!! Who also happens to share the same birthday as me! 🥹 #OAW@AlliesWelcome
@zhwandmedical So inspiring Ayesha jaan! ❤️ Thank you for being there for our fellow Afghans! As children of refugees, we can only hope that our people don’t feel as lonely as our families did back in the 80’s!
Thank you so much @RealDoctorMike and @SamDonaldBowers for the tickets to the #alivetour! We all loved every minute of the show, especially playing Medical Family Feud! It was such a fun night!! #coolaunt
