Security footage from 11:20 PM shows Bailey waking up, watching Rocky trembling in the corner, then slowly standing. Bailey has severe arthritis. Moving is painful. But he walked carefully across the kennel.
Laid down beside Rocky. Wrapped his body around him protectively. By morning, Rocky had stopped shaking. Was pressed against Bailey's side. Actually sleeping peacefully for the first time since arriving.
Shelter director Maria told: "Bailey has done this with nineteen scared, traumatized dogs over six years. He's never been adopted because he's senior, moves slowly, and needs daily medication. But he's comforted nineteen broken souls just by lying beside them and showing them what gentle feels like."
