As artists, it remains our duty to ensure that amendments to the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act which is at it's initial stages before the @MoJCA_UG (Ministry of Justice),addresses all our needs and concerns.
We have an opportunity to participate in passing of the law that provides for adequate remuneration of artists. Consumers of music and other genres of the Arts including telecom companies must pay for consuming music and artistic works...
I have been contacted by @URSBHQ and been informed that -The Call Back Rington (CRBTs) is one of the key issues under consideration in the proposed reforms. If passed, this will ensure that telecoms pay for the consumption of musical 🎤 and artistic works. It will be a big win for artists in Uganda 🇺🇬!
