Calling all Decatur seniors! I'm hosting a senior fair on Thursday, April 9 at the Salvation Army of Decatur and Macon County.
Seniors will be able to ask questions and get info from a variety of service and health care providers, state programs and local groups.
As we continue to equip our students with resources and support in the classroom, we need to make sure they don’t face setbacks because of a lack of understanding or awareness of the law. That's why I'm working to add training on the proper handling of service animals in schools.
As chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I’ve worked to expand ag education so students have the opportunity to see the various avenues & careers the industry has to offer. I’m committed to continuing to grow our ag industry & that begins with training our future ag leaders.

@SenDorisTurner Illinois State Senator Turner, as a constituent of yours, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You have shown you listen to the community and can deliver what we specifically want for the entire state.
As we talk about primaries next year, I think it's important to talk ov local politics we'd like to *keep* to help other politicians know what we want.
My state Senate rep truly listened to the community after Sonya Massey's death, she's great in general, and likely has my vote.
Today marks a monumental moment for the Springfield community and our state. Sonya Massey's murder should have never happened. That's why I got to work, listening to our community and having discussions with law enforcement to ensure something like this never happens again.
I was proud to sponsor SB 1953, in honor of Sonya, to require law enforcement agencies to conduct a more comprehensive review of a prospective officer’s past employment to ensure his or her fitness for duty as a police officer before making an offer of employment.
