Olypub, Park Street—one of Kolkata’s most iconic restaurants—is now at the centre of a deeply disturbing controversy.

A well-known Kolkata content creator ordered mutton steak.
What was served? Beef steak.

Even more shocking—after some time, the waiter returned and informed them that the earlier steak was beef, and then served another plate.

This raises a serious and unavoidable question:
Was this an accident—or a routine practice?

Because such an incident does not happen in isolation.
If beef can be served so casually, without confirmation, disclosure, or consent, it raises concerns that this may not be the first such case—and that serving beef to Hindu customers “by default” or “by silence” may have become a habit at Olypub.

This is not about food preference.
This is about religious belief, informed consent, and consumer rights.

The waiter is Muslim.
The owner of Olypub is Muslim.
Yet no prior warning was given to a Hindu customer ordering mutton—only an afterthought disclosure.

Now ask yourself:
If pork were served to a Muslim customer—even once—would it be brushed aside as a “mistake”?
Or would there already be outrage, FIRs, protests, and wall-to-wall media coverage?

Why is Hindu faith treated with such casual disregard?

This is not hate.
This is a demand for equal respect.

Kolkata Police must take cognizance and initiate strict legal action against the management of Olypub for food fraud and violation of religious sentiment.

If investigation proves intent or repeated negligence, this restaurant must face the full legal consequences.

Until accountability is fixed, Hindus have every right to boycott such establishments that show zero respect for their beliefs.

Respect cannot be selective.
Law cannot be optional.
Silence will only encourage repetition.

Is this the “new Kolkata” under Mamata Banerjee—where Hindu faith is expected to quietly adjust?

Questions deserve answers.
And answers must come through law.

ANOTHER HINDU KILLED IN BANGLADESH

55-year-old Liton Chandra Ghosh owned a sweetshop in Bangladesh.

Few muslims came and started beating his 17-year-old employee Ananta Das over some trivial matter.

Liton attempted to protect his employee Ananta Das and defuse the situation.

But the attackers started beating Liton as well. He was struck on the head with a shovel and died on the spot.

Another Hindu killed in Bangladesh!

On January 17, a Hindu employee of a gas station in Bangladesh was rammed and killed by the vehicle of a leader of the youth front of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Ripon Saha (30) was an employee at 'Karim Filing Station', which is located at Rajbari district's Goalanda intersection. On the day of the incident, Abul Hashem Sujon came to the gas station and filled octane worth BDT 5,000 in his vehicle and tried to flee the place without paying. As Ripon Saha tried to stop the vehicle and collect the payment, Abul Hashem Sujon and his driver Kamal Hossain turned furious and passed derogatory remarks at Ripon Saha and rammed him under the vehicle thus leaving him dead.

#BreakingNews: Sixth Hindu man killed in Bangladesh!

Within hours of the murder of Rana Pratap Bairagi, another Hindu has been killed in Bangladesh.

On January 5, 2026 at around 10 pm, a Hindu shop owner Moni Chakraborty was suddenly attacked by miscreants with sharp weapons and left in a critical condition at Chorsindur Bazaar under Narsingdi district's Polash upazilla. Later he succumbed to injuries.

Moni is the eldest son of Madan Chakraborty.
