でも、2024年の僕たちがどんな状況にいたかを思い返すと……いや、もうそんなことどうでもいいだろ。

本当に魔法のようなシーズンだった。
このチームが何かを成し遂げるなんて、誰も予想していなかった。

MLBの他の29球団が獲得を見送った日本人選手がいた。ドジャースからトレードでやってきて、MLB史上最悪のチームの中でも最悪の選手の一人になってしまった男もいた。元サバンナ・バナナズの選手もいた。高校時代を最後に外野を守っていなかったレフトもいた。そして、昨年メジャーデビューしたばかりの23歳の若手が何人もいた。

それなのに、僕たちは84勝を挙げ、ポストシーズンのシリーズにも勝ったんだ。
こんな終わり方になってしまったのは本当に悔しい。でも、この選手たちをこれ以上誇りに思うことなんてできない。
僕はこのシーズンのことを、一生忘れない。

永遠にゴー・ソックス！

来シーズンも、その次のシーズンも、そしてそのまた次のシーズンも、皆さんが僕たちと一緒にいてくれることを願っています。
