Wife, Mother, State Senator proudly representing the 30th Senate District in Pennsylvania comprised of Blair, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata and Mifflin Counties.
Anyone operating heavy commercial vehicles on PA highways must be proficient in English to drive safely, so the Senate passed legislation to make sure all CDL testing is done in English – and to end reckless, illegitimate CDL mills.
Our EMS providers are facing an ongoing financial crisis while continuing to answer every emergency call, every hour of every day. This National EMS Week, @SenatorJWard & I introduced a bill to strengthen the financial stability of PA’s 911 EMS providers: https://t.co/WfK6blSQUC
Today provides the opportunity to join together across our communities in prayer for our friends, families, communities and nation. May God Bless you, our Commonwealth and the United States of America!
Today is the National Day of Prayer! The theme for this year is Glorifying God Among the Nations - Seeking Him in All Generations. The verse for this year is 1 Chronicles 16:24 "Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples."
What a wonderful start to the morning joining the 5th Annual Pennsylvania Bible Reading Marathon. This 5-day event, spans over 90 hours, which is a non-stop reading of the bible from Genesis to Revelation. It was great to see Tim and Dawn Allen, who were there with their family.
We put protection of female athletes front and center with the Senate’s bipartisan approval of the Save Women’s Sports Act, to ensure athletic programs in our schools maintain appropriate sex based designations. ℹ️ https://t.co/jFRdGrWdmJ
We passed @SenatorJWard’s and @SenatorKristin’s legislation requiring public schools and colleges to classify sports teams by biological sex and limit participation on women’s teams to biological females.
The Senate has again approved @SenatorJWard & @SenatorKristin's legislation to protect the safety & opportunities of female athletes by requiring scholastic sports teams to be designated based on biological sex. Women & girls now need the House to act. ℹ️ https://t.co/jFRdGrWdmJ
Fighting for fairness in women’s sports alongside @SenatorJWard today.
It’s about fairness, opportunities, and a promise to our daughters and granddaughters that school athletic teams designated for women are exclusively for biological females.

The Senate has unanimously approved my legislation, Senate Bill 782, to help address a shortage of qualified instructors who train emergency responders across the state. You can read more about it here - https://t.co/H0NRrYNunv
Once again, Democrats in the House resort to partisan political tricks to avoid voting on my bill, the Save Women's Sports Act, to protect our daughters & prevent them from having to compete against men. It is past time for Democrats to do the right thing & save women's sports.
🚨🚨BREAKING: For the THIRD time, PA House Democrats pulled a procedural stunt to avoid voting on SB 9, the Save Women's Sports Act, re-referring the bill to yet another committee.
I joined Sen. Lisa Baker, to introduce Sen. Res. 232, recognizing Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week here in PA, which is March 8-14. The theme this year is “Inhale Confidence, Exhale Limits.” Pulmonary disease is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US & the 5th leading cause in PA.
As an under-recognized and underdiagnosed condition, estimated to affect 1 in 2,000 Americans, Senate Resolution 235, brings much needed attention to the symptoms and disorders associated with Narcolepsy.
Each year, Suddenly Sleepy Saturday falls on the day before we turn our clock ahead for Daylight Saving Time. This one-hour change in the day can lead many without Narcolepsy to experience some of Narcolepsy’s classic symptoms, such as excessive daytime sleepiness.
I introduced Senate Resolution 235 designating March 7, as “Suddenly Sleepy Saturday for Narcolepsy Awareness” in PA. Suddenly Sleepy Saturday was established in 2012 to generate public awareness of Narcolepsy.
As co-chair of the Rare Disease Caucus, I understand the impact of rare diseases on those affected & their loved ones. I was proud to join in this effort by introducing a resolution designating February 28, 2026, as “Rare Disease Day” in Pennsylvania. https://t.co/CJsplhZEr4

One way to start closing the funding gap for rape crisis centers would be for Gov. Shapiro to donate the $2.1 million in Epstein money to the centers.
