On this Juneteenth, we take time to remember the horrors of slavery in the United States, its continued impact on the socioeconomic status of millions of Black Americans, celebrate freedom, and recommit ourselves to reckoning and dismantling systemic racism.

On June 19th, 1865 - over 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation - Union Army troops marched to Galveston, Texas, to free the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas. This day of emancipation and freedom would come to be known as Juneteenth.

Today we take time to honor and remember the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We owe them and their families the utmost gratitude and respect.

Starting next week, the Oregon Senate Committee on Housing and Development will host a series of informational hearings regarding housing production, homeownership, houselessness, and other related topics.

@lbaker_Realtor SB 976 does not eliminate MID in Oregon. It will only eliminate the MID for 2nd homes.

For primary residence, the MID will begin to phrase out for those making $200K, and be eliminated completely for those making more than $250K. About 93% of taxpayers won’t be impacted at all.
