Harry Reid tried to get me fired a few times and only succeeded once (that I know of!) when Sinclair took over the NBC affiliate here. His relationships with media owners were key to his success. My latest Substack 123 days away from my book publication.

"weāre not going to quit until done oāclock."
in the last ep of looking back, moving forward, i talked to @Senatorspearman about the ongoing fight for the equal rights amendment ā and why it still matters.

.@Senatorspearman emphasized that āBlack women have always been on the frontlinesānot just for our own rights, but for the soul of the nation.ā From Harriet Tubman to Shirley Chisholm, Black women have consistently fought for justice.

"If the administration truly wants to reduce the budget, it may start by leaving the new names of military bases in place and not requiring the names of insurrectionists to once again brand military facilities around the country."

My wife and I were sitting in the backyard one day after work. I looked up and said, āWow, thatās a beautiful yellow sunset.ā
She looked back at me and said, āNo, thatās red!ā
We laughed, and then I turned around to see what she saw. Sure enough, behind me, the sky was glowing red.
That moment stuck with me. We were both looking at the same sky, just from different angles. We were both right. And we were both wrong. The sky was big enough to hold both viewpoints.
Perspective matters, folks. Donāt forget to consider others.

On the first #MemorialDay in 1865, freed Black people in Charleston gathered to honor Union soldiers who died fighting to end slavery. That legacy lives on. Today, we remember all who gave their lives in the fight for freedom, equality, and justiceāat home and abroad.
So many families, including my own, have faced challenges because of the lack of speciality health care providers in Nevada.
SB434 will provide grant funding to help bring those speciality services to Nevada. Thank you to my colleagues for the support!
Joe Lombardo stood behind Donald Trump while he tried to shut down the Department of Education and take nearly $1B per year in funding for Nevada schools & students.
But I stood up for our kids. I sued. And today, we secured a major legal victory ā vital resources will not be unlawfully ripped away from our schools while this trial is pending.
Let me clear: Fighting for our kids and our future *is* the job. Not playing politics with our kids. Not cozying up to Trump. Standing up when it counts.
Joe Lombardo wonāt do that. But I will.
I didnāt know I had stage 4 cancer (Hodgkinās lymphoma). It had spread to both lungs and all through my body. My only symptom was tiredness and a nagging cough. This is a stop spreading conspiracy theories about Joe Bidenās cancer diagnosis post.
Iām thinking of the Bidens as they take on cancer, a disease theyāve done so much to try to spare other families from. Wishing you a speedy, full recovery.
No one in America is stronger than Joe Biden. Mine metastasized to the bones too. Cancer has no fucking idea who itās dealing with. Betting against Biden has never been and still remains a bad fucking bet
I am saddened to learn of former President Joe Bidenās cancer diagnosis. He led our nation with strength, vigor, and decency and I have no doubt that same strength will carry him through.
My prayers are with him and his family during this time.

I am hearing of hard working Americans who voted for Trump and now are being fired from their jobs with the Parks Service, with Veterans affairs, with USAID, with NIH etc. If you are a Trump voter who is being fired or has a family member being fired, please share your story.
šØ 32% of Nevadaās state budget comes from federal funding. When that funding was temporarily frozen, it wasnāt just a headline ā it put real peopleās livelihoods on the line across our state.
What did that mean? It meant state programs that provide critical health and childcare services to families in need were immediately at risk. It meant uncertainty for public schools, law enforcement agencies, and hospitals trying to keep their doors open. It meant potential cuts to programs that combat hate crimes, support survivors of violence, and deliver life-saving disaster relief. Thatās not politics ā thatās real life. And as Attorney General, my job is to ensure that we donāt have to worry about our paychecks, our medicine, or our safety in the Silver State.
So I fought back on behalf of all of us in Nevada ā and, at least for now, we won. Last week, I also traveled to Fernley, Winnemucca, and Elko to hear directly from folks about what was at stake for them during the funding freeze. Because I donāt know about Washington, but I know Nevada. And Iāll always put the Nevada family first.
