@SEND_Action Quality of reports. The provision from the EP assessment is so vague and not specific at all. 90% of the provision recommended has already been in place for some time with very little impact so the assessment has not given us many new things to try.

What are the options (as a school) if we do not agree that the actual provision, not even the funding element, is sufficient to meet the needs of a student? We have raised to the LA when the draft was issued and have been advised that they will be issuing a final plan w/same info

The provision is largely things of which have already been implemented and we have evidenced the lack of impact. Some are even just QFT. We have also been advised to ask our own EP for further advice on the provisions recommended.

If the DT can have “reasonable adjustments” why can’t the homework 🤷🏻‍♀️ (4).

H/work to attend after school clubs - child uses LA transport to and from - needs constant 1:1 (medical) & learning needs - 1 hr DT put in as they didn’t stay for clubs - DT is moved to social time due to the transport (1)

No communication on what staff will be able to support the during the club. Previously told staffing cannot cater for this. Is the child supposed to arrange this too? (3)

Needs assessment complete - parental request for change to specialist setting - school in agreement outlined in consult - LA say they agree but there is no space so original school will be named in the final plan. What happens next? @gfreeman2012 @SEND_Action @SendcoSolutions

@StarlightMcKenz They can’t be catered for without 1:1 as an adult is needed at all times to carry (&use) medical equipment. We were told the 1:1 can’t go as it is school holidays (next year) & have childcare. I would assume it is also because they are term time only.

Meanwhile, sitting on the parent/carer side of the table. There is an upcoming residential abroad trip during a school holiday and the school have said “1:1 can’t attend” (1)

Is it reasonable to wonder if some funding support should be provided given that we would be paying an additional £1500 which non-SEN parents/carers are not having to pay to ensure their child can go on the trip? Advice please! (4/4)!
