In response to this debate, European lawmakers introduced new rights of use alongside #uploadfilter​s. These legalise the use of #copyright​ed works for forms of social communication such as #parody, #caricature or #pastiche across #Europe.

However, as #pastiche strongly resemble original works, the debate on automatic #uploadfilter​s raised concerns that such forms of internet culture could be blocked, thereby restricting #FreedomOfExpression.
