@karenrosser4 @lucywriter @PrioryGroup So sorry for your loss. I’m in the same position. CQC investigation favoured the home. They inspected 6 months after the event and found no issue. It’s an absolute joke. Hoping you get justice for your dad x
@Sineadmcgar@CareChampions2 So sad to hear about another of our elderly dying whilst in the “care” of a care home. We have to remember that people with dementia are extremely vulnerable, as vulnerable as a child, yet had this been a child this would be national news. There’s no excuse. It’s unacceptable 💔
@SeanFletcherTV@Channel4 What an amazing programme. Well done!! It’s so wonderful that you helped those lovely people to find their families..What a gift. I wish them both every happiness 🥰
@CareWatchdog My Dad was in a care home & I still had to go in & provide personal care, dressing shaving, cutting nails etc. Changing bedsheets, bringing food. I did this whilst working & have a family. I would do it all again for him, but it’s hurt me…
@Dementiafriendx@CCTVinCare@CareWatchdog Completely agree. My Dad was wilfully neglected and died in March, and police only started interviewing staff a week ago. Police should investigate regardless. A crime is a crime. It shouldn’t take someone to die before it’s taken seriously. Prevention is key!!
Perpetrators of the neglect & abuse of our elders must stop having their criminality minimised. It’s often claimed “it was out of character” or “it only happened once” NO, they only got caught once.. & once is clearly enough😔@CCTVinCare@CareWatchdog

@Dementiafriendx@CCTVinCare@GillianKeegan@DementiaUK Thank you 🥰 thankfully we moved Dad to a hospice & we’re all able to be with him when he passed.I held him, my hand on his chest as I felt his heart beat stop.. it hurts so much..but It was a privilege to be present in that moment. I’m so sorry you never got that opportunity x
Dad passed away after an accident in a care home. Help was significantly delayed .#wilfulneglect .If not for his CCTV we’d know nothing. He Suffered. He Died. We Suffer. We Cry. Why doesn’t his life matter? Why doesn’t their crime matter? @CCTVinCare@GillianKeegan@DementiaUK
@nellypick22 @SoniaPoulton Your response is part of the problem. I personally do not rank abuse,as the abuse/neglect of anyone is abhorrent. But,vulnerable elders ARE needlessly dying. They’re being neglected & physically, emotionally & sexually abused. Their pain matters & society needs to address that!
@SoniaPoulton 💯 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I hope you also feel this way about the abuse and neglect of the elderly…many of whom are equally as vulnerable but crimes against them don’t get the exposure they should…
💔it’s a sad world we live in when neglecting a helpless animal makes far more headlines than neglecting our vulnerable & helpless elderly. Neglect is neglect. Where is our humanity? @CareWatchdog @DignityCampaign #elderlivesmatter https://t.co/xjJm9vhSkK
@Chris071134@CareWatchdog I’m so sorry to hear this 😞 I had to contact safeguarding & the poilce. My Dad passed away after 3 weeks but a poilce investigation is now underway. Trying to get justice is heartbreaking & a drawn out process. They suffer and we continue to suffer 😢
