Obafemi Hamzat is somewhat speaking like an Awoist here.

I don't know why Lagos will solely focus on investing in rice fields in other parts of the country (like Niger state) when there are enough lands in Oyo and Ekiti.

Or why people here will be looking for seafood and gas fields to invest in when there are enough in Itsekiri and Ilaje waters.

We need to be deliberate about investing in our SW people and our sibling territories.

I hope he follow through on this if elected though.

The commerce/strategic supply chain into Lagos biillion dollar markets should flow through the lands of Oyo and Ekiti and through the waters of Ondo and Iwere.

Imagine if the millions of bags of rice consumed in Lagos are planted in Oyo and tonnes of seafood are gotten from Ilaje and Iwere? We will put our people to work and lift them from poverty.

This is an important form of Yoruba Nationalism: strategic economic integration, investments, and development.

On this note, I'm giving my full support to Obafemi Hamzat to become the next governor of Lagos state.

Ok. This is a good first step. Those who constantly shout “Get government out of the way and let the private sector do everything” convinced government to give IPPIS payroll management to the private sector.

But when I was in government, we realised that the private-sector companies managing it were themselves creating ghost workers on IPPIS. We also realised that, ghost workers aside, some public servants who do exist were collecting up to 20 salaries each! With BVN it is possible to find out who is actually collecting the salaries if the banks are willing to help.

Biometric verification is an important first step to reducing the cost of governance but it is only a first (and easy) step. A comprehensive audit of all agencies, commissions and extra-ministerial bodies is also important. That is one of the things that the Oronsaye Report did. Since that 2012 report, the number of these bodies that draw on the federal budget has trebled.

Do the biometric audit of staff, then the audit of agencies, commissions and extra-ministerial bodies, and check with PENCOM how many people the Federal Government is paying contributory pensions for.

After doing that, decide which agencies you want to merge or scrap, and which ones should be giving us revenue instead of us funding them from the budget.

The last step should be people that we want to ask to go. Again, that will be graduated, starting from offering redundancies and giving people an incentive to go. At all times, have the trade unions alongside, so that they can see that reduced personnel costs will make it easier to pay those that remain better. It can be done.

REACHER S04E05 — “Bridge”

Episode ini makin memperjelas siapa bad guy, atau lebih tepatnya bad women dalam kasus ini. 😅 Misterinya perlahan mulai terkuak, tapi semakin banyak jawaban yang didapat, semakin banyak pula pertanyaan baru muncul.

Yang menarik, posisi Reacher juga berubah drastis. Dari orang yang memburu pelaku, sekarang dia justru menjadi buronan Philadelphia PD setelah ditemukan di lokasi pembantaian.

Dan episode ini benar-benar intens dari awal sampai akhir. Kejar-kejaran antara tim Reacher dan Philadelphia PD terasa seru, ditambah beberapa adegan aksi yang brutal dan membuat episode ini terasa seperti satu film action panjang.

Soal flash drive, isinya memang mulai terbuka, tapi ternyata belum menjawab pertanyaan terbesar. Justru semakin penasaran apa sebenarnya yang ada di balik informasi tersebut dan kenapa begitu banyak pihak menginginkannya.

Dan ending-nya? Cliffhanger yang bikin makin nggak sabar menunggu episode berikutnya.

Reacher S04 sejauh ini semakin menarik.
