I was an 8th grade boarding student at the SSPX's school St Marys Academy in 1988 when Archbishop Lebvre reneged on the agreement to restore unity.

From that day forward, the SSPX was never the same. It was then that I first sensed the bitter zeal of schism that consumed them.

Fr. Mark Beard explains the reason why the Deacon does not place his hands on the altar when kissing the altar and why it is only the priest who places his hands on the altar and kiss the altar.

He also explained why the orans posture is not for the laity but the priest alone.

I realise that many Catholics here argue with me as to why I'd say that the arm stretching and lifting up of the arms is reserved for the priests alone.
