@MikeLevin Matty Moroun, the owner of the Ambassador Bridge, has been throwing everything possible at stopping and delaying the Gordie Howe Bridge since the day it was conceived; lawsuits, state/local politicians, and now POTUS. Unbelievable how one man's greed can impede so much progress.
This data center stuff is wild. I’m in Virginia and there is a data center with massive loud generators directly next to a neighborhood. The neighbors were told they were just testing the generators, but they’ve been on for MORE THAN A YEAR. Its insane. More later on @NewsNation.
Starting out day with severe thunderstorm watch for much of western half of Va. Fast-moving line of storms expected to weaken crossing mtns but may still have enough punch for some gusty winds. Tornado warning currently (just before 7:30 a.m.) in effect west of Beckley WVa.
UnitedHealth continuously denied rehab care for seniors on Medicare Advantage recovering from surgery. But when patients appealed, they reversed 99.7% of denials.
So they knew the denials were wrong, they just hoped people wouldn't fight back.
That's a predatory business model. No more profit-driven claim denials: we need Medicare for All.

In case anyone is in need of some trellis options for cheap, dollar tree has these super cheap storage racks for $1.50. One pack can make two trellises the same size as a typical tomato cage, minus one piece (I chose to leave it off the top but you can do it anywhere). The poles are metal so they are sturdy just like a typical tomato cage. You could also use this for cucumbers and possibly make a zig zag instead of the typical box. They can also be added to to make them taller or different shapes.
*Edit to add: if you do this you will end up with a lot of extra shelf liners that can be used the same as weed barrier as they are a very similar material and you get enough to cover at least a small bed!
Hopefully this can help someone, if you try it or have other ideas I’d love to see them!
@HemmerleinLee My sister lives in a farming community and was told by their local farrier that younger generation hasn't been interested in that trade overall. Shame. I'm sure you'll do great.
@AdamKinzinger I am angry that such an extreme amount of money was spent on it while we are suffering at every other intersection. Food, clothing, shelter, insurance, medical, transportation.
@giveashitnature It is my experience & observation that deer are the problem, at least here in SW Virginia. I've seen herds as large as 14 in a town that is only about 15 sq miles. They have no natural predators here. The fox, owl, weasel & bobcat do seem reduced, as well.
