She presented the progress of our project Sensing Iberianscapes over 2025, including the LiDAR and multispectral surveys carried out in May at several sites by colleagues from @ntnu, as well as the magnetometry work focused on the study of protohistoric iron production sites.
This work forms part of an ongoing collaboration between the Universitat de València and NTNU (Norway) within the #sensingiberianscapes project (CIDEXG/2022/55).
Our project was present at the International GEOFISIC-ARQ 2025 Conference, held at the University of Cádiz on 28–29 October 2025. We presented the paper: “Iron Landscapes: First Non-Invasive Prospection Results on Iberian Metallurgical Activity in Inland Valencia”

🥳 We’re celebrating!
During the annual meeting of the Aerial Archaeology Research Group (AARG), held in Trondheim (Norway), the presentation by PhD candidate Mª Lucrècia Centelles Fullana.
This presentation, titled “Using ALS for Iron Age archaeology in the Valencian region (Spain)”, received a special mention from the organization with the Early Career Award 2025.
⛏️🔥 Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Salvador Rovira Llorens, a renowned specialist in archaeometallurgy.
He guided us through the analysis of iron slag — smelting and forging residues — discussing their microstructure, composition, and formation processes.
