@SentebaleLS latest initiative, the Socio-Economic Strengthening Program is designed to provide girls and young women with the business skills training, internships and mentorship to kickstart income-generating activities that support their own livelihood.

Our first step? Mentorship training for female business professionals at the University of Cape Town. These incredible professionals will then mentor young women in our community, fostering long-term self-reliance. Together, we can aim to combat one of the root causes of the HIV/AIDS pandemic; economic vulnerability. Let's create a future where every girl has the tools to thrive.

Last Friday, we joined the @nac_lesotho and other partners working in the HIV/AIDS response space for youth for a street march, an open dialogue, and health services provision at the Makoanyane Square in the Maseru CBD.

Recent data has shown that among adults (aged 15 and above) living with #HIV in #Lesotho, prevalence is at 16.3 percent in men and 21.4 percent in women.

Happy #WorldTeachersDay! We join the rest of the world in paying homage to the teachers working day and night to ensure that Basotho children, including more than 1,000 put through school by our Secondary School Bursary programme since 2017 receive the best education possible.

Through our ethnography in which our coordinator is having a first-hand experience of the life of Basotho herd boys in Thaba-Tseka and Mokhotlong, we are tailoring our responses to exactly what they are telling us they need, as opposed to previous presumptive interventions.

This week we are in the Thaba-Tseka embarking on a roadshow meant to bring essential services closer to the herd boys in different parts of the district.

The campaign follows an extensive study lead by us to determine exactly what this vulnerable part of our population needs.

The tour will cover the areas of Mohlanapeng, Thaba-Tseka town area and surrounding villages, and various parts of the Mantšonyane.
