@TheRealZephryss They didn’t cook at all. The silly pyramids being built Timelapse aside Aya being a descendant of Kassandra makes no sense lore wise and was such a cheap attempt at connecting it to origins
@QueenLolipopo He just isn’t Cid and everybody is just fine with it for some reason and there isn’t any backlash whatsoever. His motivations in rebirth are also so ridiculous he’s risking his life and helping the party for no reason. His characters feels like an afterthought
@aerithsclouds@ClaireStrifeX02 I’ve seen people say this so many times and it’s so funny. Like yes, Aerith’s survival is more important than side characters lol.
It’s not a gotcha admitting that. Comparing Aerith’s fate to characters like Biggs, Jesse, and Wedge is INSANE.
I wonder how all the people that were coping saying Cid will finally be Cid in Revelation are gonna justify him being a completely different character this time
This is genuinely a HUGE Flaw of the retrilogy. Cid in remake is not Cid Highwind. He’s a completely different character with the same name and honestly not enough people are outraged by it
What some people don't get is that by creating this multiword scenario in Retrilogy, the devs are eternalizing FF7 OG. That's the whole point. They found a brilliant way to modernize it, attract new players, improve it and change it without ever making OG obsolete. It will forever exist as its own untouchable entity, an irreplaceable classic.
It's masterful, if you think about it. A 1:1 remake would eventually kill OG. What they're doing is making it immortal.
That quote about AC link was just being misinterpreted Now he’s being asked if Remake still leads to advent children when that was never the case lol. Anyone with a brain knows that’s not what kitase meant. Why would they spoil the ending so casually before rebirth even drops?
RPGSite asked FF7 Revelation Director Hamaguchi whether it is still the case that the FF7R series is supposed to link to Advent Children, a previous notion from an interview with Nomura.
Hamaguchi says he does not believe they have ever publicly stated it will be like that.
His full quote: “I don’t believe we’ve publicly claimed or stated it’s going to be exactly that, so I’d like for players to play Revelation and see for themselves, what the conclusion of the journey holds, and see about that.”
I think if it’s confirmed that Tyler hoechiln isn’t returning as Sephiroth I’m gonna replay Remake and Rebirth in JP and then play part 3 in JP.
Sephiroth having completely different voice out of knowhere is way too jarring
Two things I noticed about the FF7 Revelation trailer:
1) Sephiroth's closing line in Japanese is a direct homage to the Edge of Creation scene where he says "the future is up to you, Cloud."
2) Did they change Sephiroth's EN VA???
Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the thrilling conclusion of the FFVII Remake Series, launches simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store and Steam in Spring 2027.
