Cree. Comedian, linguist, birder, and radio host. Pretty positive and often laughing (at my own jokes). Indigenous Community Engagement Officer at #uOttawa.
On National Indigenous Peoples Day, please join Chancellor Claudette Commanda and the rest of the University of Ottawa community in celebrating the heritage, cultures, contributions, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. 1/3
@carrchristmas @ircoutts Some of the records included journals and affirm what Carrington is describing. They didn't hide it. I just looked at those two provinces during a specific period. Imagine everywhere else. These types of records are often public. You can find them if you actually want to.
@carrchristmas @ircoutts I worked at the Métis Family and Community Research Lab for nearly two years and reviewed countless historical documents from the 19th and 20th centuries originating from Ontario and Manitoba. The church did a great job of documenting their work. Colonialism is a thing, my dude.
@AggrendWoW I've been wrestling with this one. On one hand, I hear the hardcore types and their right to play as they wish. On the other, I think a delay may be good for the overall health of the community. The rush breeds resentment in guilds with more casual players. "Discover" patience.😂
Me after spending three weeks on the road: I can't wait to eat more home-cooked meals.
Also me the first night home: St-Hubert would actually be pretty nice right now.
Waciye! The uOttawa Indigenous Resource Centre is hiring a Coordinator! They are responsible for promoting the Centre’s activities and Indigenous cultures within the student population, faculties and university services. Check it out!

Let's celebrate the history, knowledge, creativity, cultures, and languages of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples on #NationalIndigenousPeoplesDay!
@Danishinaabe In linguistics we learned about the Righthand head rule, which pretty much means the noun furthest to the right provides the most information about an item. Ex. "bag box" and "box bag". English speakers know that a bag box is a box for bags, and a box bag is a bag for boxes.
