@JoseC90004@Aldathlecarde2@monaka_1__1 I personally wonder if they simply had a ton of interactions already recorded in massive bulk and just had scheduled to go up at certain times during the year, as that would explain almost all the Webtoon ones. Also means they're probably quick to go too.
@JoseC90004@Aldathlecarde2@monaka_1__1 That's where I do put my effort. I don't attack Milkywave fans. More or less everything I make focuses Blizzard on the one pushing it and trying to highlight how unpopular it is of a decision.
@WasNyxOnce I PERSONALLY don't see it as Blizzard taking a stand against queer people but instead view it more as an attempt at marketing that... did not go over very well. I feel like it leans more towards an attempt to market the Webtoon which it debuted in, which is flopping hard.
A bit of an image to try and make sense of the Milkywave/MizuYang situation. Honestly, instead of blaming each other I would blame Blizzard for trying to push it in a really manufactured way. I don't think a lot of people are even arguing ships in this conflict.
@EquinoxNGS It's painful for viewers and it's certainly painful for the character, and it comes off as a pretty mean way to handle a "will they won't they?" plot.
II feel like Blizzard themselves doing it in this way has probably harmed the Milkywave community and the extended communites tied to Juno and Wuyang. I'm not really any kind of shipper, but I don't like how Blizzard is using (and failing to use) Juno/Wuyang for marketing.
@Aldathlecarde2@monaka_1__1 Same. I have been trying to make guesses towards things but for obvious reasons I can only guess at things, as Blizzard is, reasonably, not going to just tell people their plans. It's why I go off numbers I can find and try to interpret Blizzard's behavior as a dev.
@KohakuNY They really aren't... AnaHardt didn't come out with anything but community support and didn't get really anything for 10 years. Blizzard is trying to work backwards and it isn't working.
@KohakuNY AnaHardt didnt have any real interactions. It wasn't until the Webtoon they got anything concrete. Also, AnaHardt is literally one of the oldest ships in all of Overwatch and 'aged' over the course of a literal decade in fan culture. Wuyang had his crush speedran in <8 episodes.
@KohakuNY What backstory? The whole thing can be compressed in less than 8 webtoon episodes, with the crush beimg less than 1.5 episodes. They also have no history with each other and simply due to how Juno is marketed it's a dead-end character quirk for him.
@time_is_moneyTY@Aldathlecarde2 I see some but it was never the most popular for Juno or Wuyang fans. Even Blizzard doesn't seem very sincere with how the Webtoon speedruns it and interaction feeling more like checking a box.
@hanzohannie It's pretty forced. It was a pretty unpopular (as in numbers) ship beforehand and Wuyang wasn't even a year into the game when the Webtoon started, and was barely a year by the time of Episode 31. With how it's done it feels like a suit said to do it, not a writer.
@hanzohannie They aren't gonna push Milkywave. Juno's marketing as one of their biggest characters relies on keeping her at arms length, and with the response they get to it they have even less reason to.
@uuaa_1006 It was quite possibly recorded a long time ago. Blizzard is known for having interactions ready in advance with redundancy. Likely just included because it was already slotted for this timeframe, but with the Webtoon basically floundering they'll likely phase it out soonish.
