@kenklippenstein Another Diane Feinstein in the making, she'll be wheeled around the Senate building to the floor just in time to cast a vote when she's 95.
Can we really afford to have 170,000 active duty US soldiers stationed in 750 foreign military bases?
We have $39 trillion in debt, a $2 trillion budget deficit and 25% of US govt revenue goes to paying interest on the debt.
Empires collapse because they become overextended. Has anyone considered that maybe the USA canโt afford to continue with business as usual?
@volatilitysmile No shit. Lithuania shut down its NPP that had been built there by the USSR. It didn't cost them a dime, was fully paid 4. They used to export electricity and earn a fortune. Now those idiots pay an arm and a leg to buy 70% of its electricity from Sweden. Can't make that shit up.
@amylcris Yeah, Iran can't wait to pick a fight with a country that has over 5000 nuclear warheads and is located halfway across the world behind Atlantic Ocean. Makes perfect sense.
@DGodefridi Dude, did you ever think that US can simply no longer afford to pay for the global empire which is a very expensive enterprise. Trump still wants it but expects Europe to pick up a bigger share of the bill. It's that simple; it's nothing personal.
@The_FJC Well, being the "leader of a free world" ain't cheap. Besides, Europe could've potentially become a combat zone in a war between NATO and USSR. In that case, they would've become a radioactive glassed over parking lot.
@mitchellvii Come on, dude. You are talking about futures, paper oil. Besides, oil is a commodity that's priced globally. When 20% of oil can't get 2 the market prices go up everywhere, America, Africa, Asia, etc. cause simply there's less of it to go around if demand remains the same.
