Sony’s lawyers claim that it should already be obvious that digital games aren’t actually owned players🚀

Sony refers to their agreement stating that it says “the Software is licensed to you, not sold”

They proceeds to present a weird and flat out laughable argument that if a customer owns a digital game, another player won’t be able to own it since it’s one copy being downloaded, and not a countable number of copies.

All these mental gymnastics to justify their predatory behaviors in the lawsuit against them, are all the HUGE reason why we have to fight for physical video games, because having a clear defined countable number of copies, and force a revision of these terms for both physical and digital games.

🚨 PLAYSTATION GAMERS: NOVEMBER 5 MATTERS.

If you’re participating in the #PSBlackout, understand something: a boycott only has power if it survives long enough to reach the numbers.

Sony’s next quarterly earnings report is November 5.

That’s when shareholders get another look under the hood at Sony- including the performance of its Game & Network Services business.

Tweets can be ignored. Angry videos can be dismissed. Trending hashtags eventually disappear.

" But lost Revenue is harder to explain away."

If PlayStation spending weakens, subscriptions soften, or the gaming division underperforms expectations, investors are going to want to know why.

And that is where consumers have leverage.

If your message is No Disc, No Buy, don't abandon it after a few days because Sony hasn't responded. A boycott isn't measured by how loud Day 1 was. It's measured by what consumers didn't buy afterward.

November 5 doesn't guarantee the blackout will show up in Sony's results. There are many things that move quarterly numbers.

But it gives gamers something important:

A scoreboard.

Keep watching. Keep asking questions. And if you're participating, stay consistent.

Sony may not answer a hashtag.

NO DISC 💿 NO BUY is not a movement that aims to end digital games, it is a reaction to Sony’s plan to end physical media in favor of a digital-only future🚀

What does a digital-only future mean?

❌No ownership
❌Sony’s terrible refund policy
❌Games tied to one account
❌Bad customer support for account issues
❌Games may rely on network & internet
❌No trading or second hand
❌No competition > higher prices
❌No preservation for games
❌64% of countries losing access to games since they have no dedicated PlayStation Store

We aren’t just asking for something nostalgic, but rather keeping balance in the gaming world and giving players options, because ending physical games negatively impact digital gamers too.

Sony told a court that no reasonable person could think they own a digital game they paid $70 for.

Their argument? If you actually owned Resident Evil Requiem, the next guy couldn’t buy it, because you’d already “possess” it.

That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard.

That’s not how movies work. That’s not how video games have ever worked. Two people can buy the same product. Owning your copy does not mean you own the entire damn game.

You hit Buy. You paid full price. And they’re in court arguing it was always a license they can revoke whenever the fuck they want.

If buying digital games is “obviously” not owning, then why is it the same price as physical games, not less?🚀

A disc can:

✅Be taken anywhere in the world
✅Not tied to an account
✅Can be resold/traded
✅Mostly doesn’t rely on the internet
✅Isn’t region locked
✅Can be found in wide range of prices
✅The best way to preserve media

So again, if a digital-only game is “a license”, then maybe price those at $30-40 since the convenience and safety of having a disc is worth far more.
