Finally started making myself a VR framework using #UE4 and #Blender. So far I've built off of the VR template in UE4, added some custom hands w/ animations, and a UI that lets me switch between teleport and walk locomotion. Next, I'm going to start messing with interactions.
I wanted to see how many #leveldesign principles I could pack into one area that would just scream to the player "Go to this door!"
So I did that.
Here's the breakdown
Having a background in photography is more helpful than I thought.
@zach_geek@UnrealEngine Ive played around with medium. I believe they will be big in the future but theyre not there quite yet imo. Then again, I probably havent given them as much time as some people do. Have you tried the quest yet? That thing is a real game changer.
@zach_geek@UnrealEngine I've been doing a lot more work on the art side of things in Blender and making game assets for the UE4 marketplace. I want to start designing something for VR soon though.
@TylerJa95207006 I would reccomend giving this video a look, it gives some good information to go in with. This channel in general is great though https://t.co/HewTiFHlKQ
@TylerJa95207006 Maya’s industry standard. Blenders free and open source. I’ve heard it argued that people should start with blender, but if you have access to maya most others would tell you to learn that. The principles are really all the same though, just different tools
