The tomb of William Marshal, medieval England's greatest knight. Where would the English crown have been without him in the 12th and early 13th centuries?
@FLovellInfo I, too, think it's William's, but I cannot know, of course. Funnily, when I was there, I was told that William Lovell was not linked to Francis Lovell. I suppose they had no clue who Francis was 🙄
Tomb in St. Kenelm's Church, Minster Lovell. The church was built in the 1450s by William Lovell, 7th Baron Lovell, the grandfather of Francis Lovell. Some say the tomb is that of W. Lovell, other sources claim it to be that of John Lovell, Francis' father.
OTD 1478, George, Duke of Clarence, was executed by command of his own brother, Edward IV. (quite convinced the Woodvilles played a part in this...) 😔 R.I.P. Mylord of Clarence!
