Thankfully I double checked yesterday only to find it’s my child’s INSET day today! Not sure he would’ve appreciated an unnecessary school run 😂🤦🏽♀️ Good luck if your child is back today or you’re having to organise something for an INSET day #sendservices#sendparent#halfterm
It can be overwhelming attending a meeting. Especially if there are other professionals there who may hold different views to you about your child. I can support you in these meetings. Get in touch. Link in bio for a no fee no obligation chat. #sendservices#send#sen

SEND reforms pilot already nine months behind schedule. Amanda Allard, director of the Council for Disabled Children, said the #EHCP proposals for strengthened mediation and tailored lists had gone down “like a bucket of cold sick”.

I had the pleasure of being able to support a parent who has additional needs themselves in a school SEND meeting. This parent had been told that an EHCP assessment request was going to be made by January. Despite lots of prompts and meetings, no progress had been made. 🧵
At yesterday‘s meeting, I was able to work with the school and parent collaboratively to draft up a large part of the EHCP assessment request. The school also provided us with an updated IEP which had not been provided to the parent. 🧵
They assured us that the ECP assessment would be completed and sent to the local authority by the end of next week. It was a positive and productive meeting with a positive outcome. 🧵
